1995 Terracotta
A dry white wine made from grapes from a particular part of our vineyard
that is rich in red clay. It is deep golden, almost apricot in colour,
with opulent, full fruit flavours all grounded in the earthy tones of
natural yeast fermentation. Fireweed honey, apricot, pear, smoke and nuances
of ginger all come to mind. It was 25% Vosges oak-aged, 50% natural yeast
fermented and had 100% lees contact for almost two years. Excellent with
light meats with sweet fruit sauces like apricot or figs. 13.7% alcohol.
