1998 Pale Alte

This Kerner/Pinot Gris masterpiece, pronounced Pah-lay Ahl-tay, is named for the tall posts in the vineyard where it was grown, which were such an improvement that we used them in all subsequent plantings. This wine is completely different in style from anything else we have released. The hot 1998 season gave us big, rich fruit, yet still backed with racy acidity. We have framed it in new French oak, which adds that wonderful vanilla typical of Nevers wood. A single barrel was made, so we must limit to 2 bottles per customer. 13.3% alc. Sealed with a crown cap.
