New Wine Shop

wine shopAt last! Our wine shop is almost finished and we proudly invite you to visit, see the amazing craftsmanship of local artisans Joseph Gelinas and Sandra Carr in our JC Scott Eco-designed space and, of course, taste the delicious new releases. 

  • We are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week in our old location. We will extend our drop-in hours to Wednesday to Sunday (and Holiday Mondays) in the new store beginning August 5th.

  • Check our Products page for the latest releases, including the Millefiori 2010, Rosato 2009, Brut Naturel KS Cuvée 2008, Primavera 2010, Indigo 2009 (almost sold out already!), Nero di Collina 2009, Pinot Noir 2008 and other favourites.
 
It has been so long since we sent out news that we are getting emails wondering if we are okay! In spite of the challenging season last year and ridiculously cool season so far this year, the vineyard is looking amazing and we have some outstanding new releases for you to try.

On Sunday, August 7th and Sunday, August 28th, we welcome Belgian chef Steve Elskens and partner Christle Pope with their mobile kitchen Farm’s Gate Foods & Catering. Steve and Christle are long-time VS supporters with many years of experience in the restaurant business, Steve most recently with Amusé Bistro. Farm’s Gate Foods & Catering fulfills their dream of providing high quality and skilfully prepared small plate cuisine for festivals, special events, farmers’ markets, weddings, etc. and we are proud to have them provide you with their delicious fare. 

  • You can purchase an assortment from the menu below at $5 per individual tapas style plate to enjoy in our picnic area, along with a glass or tasting of VS wines ranging from just $5 to $8.
  • We will be open 10 am to 5 pm. 
  • Early birds can come for a 10 am tour and enjoy brunch from Farm’s Gate
  • Or you can drop in any time until 5 pm for a delicious Farm’s Gate meal with wine purchased separately in our tasting room.
  • We are inviting fellow members of the Cowichan Valley Artisans, a select group of people committed to their craft, whether it be furniture making, ceramic and pottery arts, painting, glass art, cooking or wood turning and we’ll have information on hand for Doc the Barber, whose artistry takes the form of authentic hot towel straight razor shaves!  We will have a good selection of their art on display and brochures to help you find their studios year-round.
  • Farm’s Gate is cash only. Our wine shop accepts cash, Visa, MasterCard and debit
  • Please make other arrangements for pets and children.
